The Ups and Downs of Reading

Has it ever happened to you where you’re in the middle of a book and everything is picture perfect? Then all of a sudden, the author decides to drop a sequence of events in which he/ she tries to do a climax. Well I can assure you, in this book it’s happened to me quite a few times. The book the serpents shadow is about two kids known as Carter and Sadie Kane. Containing the blood of a pharaoh Carter and Sadie are destined to save the world.

Throughout the book Carter and Sadie encounter a few troubling obstacles. These obstacles usually consist of other worldly beings known as gods and demons. The troubling thing about each obstacle is that they each have one intention. Which is to stop Sadie and Carter Kane from steeling Apophis’s shadow?  Apophis is a giant serpent that feeds on chaos said to swallow the sun engulfing the world in chaos. Not unless something is done about it. Where heroes like Carter and Sadie rise up and fight down to their last breath. Showing an extraordinary amount of courage and devotion to their cause allowing them to fight with their life on the line.

Moving on doesn’t it just bother you when you’re in a book reading something so interesting that it just takes your breath away? Where some point during that breath taking moment the climax takes giant leap and you’re in a part where you’re wishing that this would happen but it doesn’t. Situations like this happen a lot with me. Especially with this particular book. For example in the beginning of the book where Sadie is running down the streets of London trying to escape a giant vulture and gorilla. I wish that the author would have Manubis one of Sadie’s lovers come and rescue her. Be her knight in shining armor. But alas it never happened. Instead she ran holding on to herlife as she went wish things like this would happen instead of the author placing things that make absolutely no sense at all.

Overall this is truly a wonderful book and you should consider reading it some time. I’m sure there’s some way that it could affect you and how you think.
